After things were normalizing, the shorts went to town...and yes...you are correct that this time, they had someone come in and figure out the game.

The shorts and options surely do a great job of helping the market to look at the value going forward....but if I am the owner of the exchange, I would want that mechanism to work towards understanding the value, not playing games.

I do know that is why a lot of them are putting in the circuit breakers to halt trading when it goes out of certain ranges.

That is why it should be taken care of by the exchange, and not government, but they should make their rules clear as well.
