I do know the Mo Dept of Health has several million doses of other vaccines (MMR, tetnus, polio, etc) in cold storage in Jefferson City. I know because I had to count them once. I don't remember counting flu vaccine, so it may very well be handled differently.

Your doctor likely got the vaccine from the state that he gave you. At least that was my understanding of how the system worked. But there is certainly a distribution system in place for the states to distribute vaccines.
