And I'm careful to avoid such domains (via due diligence prior to registering or bidding on one I'm interested in).
However, an example of a domain that *does* carry that risk is missouritigers.com which Tigerboard's own Iam4Mizzou has boasted about owning. He doesn't understand it's worthless, in fact he may have some legal liability in owning and "squatting" it. It's a textbook case of a "bad faith" registration that would lose in a UDRP challenge.
Another well-known example here is the domain Nick owned for years, GaryPinkel.com, though I think Nick had good intentions when he registered it. He received positive PR for giving it to MU/GP for free (just a year of season tix)... but if had tried to sell it (for more than, say, $2000) there would have been a legal dispute since Nick had no legitimate use for the domain, thus it would appear as a "bad faith" registration to the ICANN committee that reviews UDRP claims. Nick could have claimed he registered it for a free biographical/tribute site for GP, which is plausible as an MU fan, but in that case he couldn't sell or profit from it so what's the point?... So he did what was in everyone's best interests and gave it to GP in exchange for good PR and some nice season tix.
