MU went 8-8 in Big 12 play the year before Haith was hired, we lost Bowers/Safford and added nobody and went 14-4 in Big 12 play the next year. He wasn't simply capitalizing on the success that was already in place.
His second season had 1 player on the roster who had played for MU the year before (Pressey). That was probably the most roster turnover ever at MU.
He was losing his best players after year 3 because they declared early for the NBA draft (largely because their fathers both had cancer).
