I'm just saying that .500 overall is no kind of benchmark. Any legitimate coaching candidate we could have hired would have surpassed that.
Also the way you are assessing making the tournament is misleading. MU made the tourney 5 years in a row from 1999-2003, then Quin absolutely cratered the program. Mike Anderson rebuilt the program and MU made the tournament 5 years in a row. Then MU gave up on men's basketball. Outside of disaster windows where MU self inflicted huge problems on the program they made the tournament every year, its not like its a sometimes on and sometimes off type of scenario.
