Totally free societies require the greatest amount of cooperation, discipline, work ethic and intelligence, and can suffer few fools and wastrels. On the opposite end, totalitarian societies carry wastrels like a deer carries ticks. "Intelligence" only matters at the top, no need for cooperation or work ethic, the worst may or may not be dealt with imprisonment or death.
There are just too many violent, moronic, ignorant people in the world right now for peaceful, cooperative, totally free societies to flourish.
