once that hit, he kept giving Democrats endless ammunition with his comments. And gave Democrats a perfect excuse to keep Biden largely out of the spotlight.

Cherry on top of all that was the media being able to use whatever stat of the week to make Covid look much worse than it really was at the time and blame it on Trump.
