the hype on Deters. Yes she was a great high school player in Missouri. Certainly that bodes well for us and indicates she has a chance to be really successful at the college level.
But she hit just .259 for Kentucky last spring, in 27 at bats, while playing in 21 games, 9 of them starts, at catcher or 3B. Admittedly a small sample. But she didn’t exactly set the world on fire there on offense.
