As many avid readers may, or more likely may not recall, I have posted updates over the years of how the top ten Missouri high school basketball recruits have fared moving forward over the years. Whereas the 2020 class was absolutely loaded, the class of 2019 was certainly one of the weakest I’ve ever researched (and I’ve done this over about the last fifteen years. Probably the worst.
1. DaJuan Harris 6-2 PG Columbia (MO) Rock Bridge
A two-star Missouri State commit, Harris burst onto the scene when his team won the state championship, then elevated to a three-star recruit with impressive play during the 2019 summer camps, then reneged on his commitment after he was deemed a non-qualifier at MO State, and then signed with Kansas, after which he was immediately elevated to a four-star and the #94 player in the country. He averaged 11 points per game during his senior season in high school , Sat out as a redshirt at ku his freshman season.
2. Mario McKinney. 6-2 SG St. Louis (Vashon)
Three-star, number 166 player in the country, committed to his cousin’s and Tiger alumnus Jimmy McKinney at Mizzou. Played in seven games during the first semester of his freshman year, posting 2.6 ppg and 1.6 rpg. Was suspended indefinitely after the break and then quilt the team. Currently enrolled at John Logan Community College in Illinois.
3. Yuiri Collins 5-11 PG St. Louis (St. Mary’s Institute)
Three-star, number 227 player in the country, committed to the St. Louis Billikens. Mid-season, after team injuries, he became the starting point guard finished the season at 5.4 ppg and 5,5 apg. A-10 All Freshman first team. Best player on the list....
4. Tyem Freeman. 6-6 SF Springfield (Hillcrest)
Three-star, number 233 player in the country, committed to Missouri State then suffered a knee injury during his senior season in high school. Left Missouri State prior to the start of classes in 2019 and enrolled at Indian Hills (IA) CC where he intended to redshirt, then left Indian Hills and has enrolled at Iowa Western CC, but does not appear on their current roster. Whereabouts unknown.
5. Isaiah Mosley. 6-5 SG. Columbia (Rock Bridge)
The leading scorer and long-time star for Rock Bridge, the three-star and #294 player in the class committed to Missouri State. As a freshman, he emerged as the Bears’ sixth man and averaged 8.3 ppg and 3.6 rpg. Solid player.
6. Marcedus Leech. 6-5 SF Poplar Bluff (H.S.)
A former top-50 recruit as a sophomore, Leech severely injured his knee during his junior season and played sparingly his senior year. Still rated as a three-star recruit, #296 in the country, he committed to Iowa State, but left prior to the season. He sat out the 19-20 season and has reportedly enrolled at Indian Hills (IA) CC for the upcoming year.
7. Lamel Robinson 5-10 PG Kansas City (Park Hill South)
First-team All-State, two star recruit committed to Omaha but failed to qualify. Whereabouts unknown.
