been better the last couple of years....even after the injuries. No, I'm not saying we should have still won 23 games. I'm saying that if we had been healthy we should have won 20-23 games and after injuries we still should have won 18 games. Not dramatically better, but we should have been better.
I have little faith in Martin. Was never on board with hiring him. Watched him too much at SMS
But, what are our options for being better this year compared to last.
Dru - he's old enough that it's unreasonable to expect much change.
Pinson - maybe he can take care of the ball and be more consistent.
Mark - maybe he can stay healthy, otherwise I'd predict little change in the quality of his A game.
Pickett - is what he is, not gonna change
Kobe - Chance for a big improvement from him.
Mitch - is what he is
Watson - maybe he can find is confidence and shot like the end of his frosh year. If not, no improvement expected.
Tilmon - the guy is not magically going to become what we always needed him to become. He is who he is.
Braun - maybe. coach says so. we'll see.
Buggs - maybe splitting the workload out front can help
And to be VERY clear....when I say a guy is who he is, such as Mitch, it does not mean I don't like him or think he sucks. It's just that he's at a point in his career where we know what he is and that's who he's gonna be. There are roles for those guys on good teams.
I generally like all of our players. I don't necessarily love the role they're being asked to fulfill and I don't love our staff.
A good many Tigerboreders won't grasp this but..... I have somewhat high expectations for this team, I do not have high hopes.
