Imagine one section of fans in a stadium. Go row by row and study their faces. in one row, you have an older man who struggles to make iT up the stairs to his seat, but does so each game day. In another row you see a couple who know their home will be foreclosed on. A man just lost his son. Another knows he has a progressive illness. In the next seat a couple has never missed a game in the last 10 years. At the top row, a person just lost his job.
All of these people have one thing in common though.
They look forward to game days so they can forget about their problems and just travel to another universe where they all share a common love for their team and each other AND THE GAME.
Now we are told that we should add the personal burdens of the rich athlete who insists that he make it our mission in life to pay good money for tickets and then sit through a lecture on our supposed lack of humanity. My response is simple. If you call us racists or blame racial problems on decent people who work hard all day, to call our humanity into question, you have just forfeited yours, and the small sum that is paid for a ticket.
