sociopaths in a society to go crazy when it will be useful to those government officials in the video linked below. He did a paper in college on the KKK. He discovered in his research that:
1. The instigators of the inhuman violence were sociopaths.
2. The violence of the KKK came in waves, ebbing and flowing over the years and decades.
He knew that the number of sociopaths in a society was relatively constant. He was curious as to what caused these ebbs and flows. Why were so many so actively destructive in some periods but then things would quiet down and seem to almost disappear for extended periods.
He said it was because of government leaders who wanted to weaponize the violence to get what they wanted. They gave the sociopaths a free pass to express their violence without the normal consequences for doing so. As the violence escalated and seemed to be acceptable to the society at large, or at least not to be punished by those with the power to do so the sociopaths and those attracted to the violence grew in numbers and boldness.
When the powers that be had enough, they put the brakes on it.
