and has not destroyed "the existing order". It's supplanted it only for those that otherwise would not have healthcare. Thus, in actuality it has provided new customers for an industry to dumb enough to previously be able to do that for itself.
And to be clear, government involvement in healthcare is a bit like Mom and Dad having to step in to stop a fight between two kids in the car. It's not ideal by any means. But the inefficiency and amazingly poor results for the buck that the prior system was bringing could no longer stand.
In reality I'm hoping someone like Jeff Bezos, as much as I dislike his organically growing monopoly on online retail can remove the fat and waste and make the healthcare 1.0 companies either compete or die.
