to be willing to put the entire university institution at risk because you believe this country can't survive without FOOTBALL of all things?
At the end of the day these are still institutions of learning, many of them existed long before football was a money making and grabbing scheme that it is now.
Sure they may have to close some residence halls, yes the redevelopment projects may get put on hold awhile. Yes a number of people may find themselves out of a job, but in the big picture these universities are covering their asses because if just ONE football player dies and it is shown he not only contracted it from a player of the opposing team but then it is learned that those players were either not tested properly or worst positive tests were covered up and such.
Well you can just imagine how bad it gets from there. I'm as big of a college football fan as anyone I know, and it will certainly suck for CFB to not really be around this year but the writing is on the wall, and the writing says its not gonna happen.
