the curve" meant extending things out, but hopefully avoiding an all-at-once spike that could overwhelm the system.

great. mission accomplished for 98% of the country.

unfortunately NYC ****ed up pretty badly, but we should learn from that. instead we used NYC's massive failure as justification for unfounded fear and panic and "flatten the curve" has become "ignore logic and science and just hide"
