the Bulge when Task Force Piper got too far ahead of the supply trains and had to rely on captured fuel to maintain forward momentum.... meanwhile, he left an easy trail for defensive forces to close on him from behind while other forces reacted to block his forward movement.

He also thinks the US would not notice the movement of Russian Special Forces and their equipment to a border location prior to them initiating an attack.
