and quite possibly the reason they didn't win the national title. If they had beaten MU, they would have faced OU in the Big12 title game, then OSU in the NC — both winnable games for that Kansas team, IMO.
Keep in mind, KU was the only 1-loss BCS team that year — every other team (including the BCS champ, LSU) finished with 2 or more losses. (It's worth mentioning that Mizzou only lost to Oklahoma that year, but did so twice: at Norman and the Big12 CG. KU never faced OU and had a much weaker schedule.)
In the end, LSU proved they were the best team in the nation, but man... that was one helluva crazy season!
