Being excluded from the GI Bill, being unable to secure FHA housing loans because of redlining, being shut out of certain neighborhoods because of racial housing covenants, etc. That's an entire generation kept locked into a poverty cycle, at varying levels. Is it easier to go to school now than in the 70's?
