the videos I saw looked like he was kneeling on his neck for what seemed like forever. 8 minutes? Maybe. As you and the doctor say, however, to an extent it is irrelevant. What he did was absurd and killed George Floyd.
I thought the doctor said that underlying cardiovascular issues and drugs in his system could well have played a role in bringing on death quicker, but that really doesn't change the underlying fact that Chauvin killed him. That the family's autopsy didn't mention those issues in the report therefore doesn't really change the key issues.
The fact that they didn't react at all when he quit moving even AFTER bystanders alerted them to that fact is unconscionable and likely what makes the other officers far more susceptible to criminal convictions themselves. At that point it was clearly their duty to try and do something to make sure he hadn't stopped breathing and to perform CPR if he had.
