There is no magic to a representative republic or any democratic form other than it allows people to have a voice. Our collective voice is giving us what we see in the streets. There is no perfect system because it all involves man and man is certainly far from perfect. But in how we are handling these issues we are showing a collective failure as there is not a culture that values law and order.
