Every day I have had the same routine. Get up, get my coffee, catch a little news, eat my egg and avocado, drive to court, yuck it up with the peeps, work my magic, get told how great I am by multiple people, high fives, around 11:30 I sit in the car and unwind with a little something something, usually a knish or a bagel, thumb through the ole phone, afternoon is mostly a repeat of the morning, nobody is watching over me because I am solo, perhaps engage in a few less-than-advisable transactions in the hood to get retained, check off 8-10 good results for the day, bathe in self admiration be the end of the afternoon, maybe hang at Muggs at the bar to unwind, head home, have my whole routine for the evening, mix in some weekend trips, some cards, movie nights, poker night with the boys, golf, fishing, family time, I could go on. I had a life.
Now I wake up, I drive a 20 mile loop to nowhere, come home and sit in a chair until night mercifully kills the day. I have developed back fat. My face is red. I don't know why or how that happened. The kids get in 14 hours of screen time a day. My two graduates have no graduation and no plans because we don't even know if college is happening in the fall. We may be doing this for a year or more. And now they took away my one and only pleasure. The gym is being used for mass indefinitely. It was my one hour a day that I felt normal. Now it's full of tables and chairs.
Do you have any follow up questions? Thank you.
