they fully support "rights" until they see something that is so compelling it renders those "rights" unnecessary in that case. Or, if rights were violated in the past it now makes sense to even it up by violating rights now. And even if they don't use those exact words, they are quite clear in their argument this is precisely their position.
Emotion is a powerful and important emotion. But it is a very subjective and imperfect measure. This is a dangerous path to take and should be seen as such.
