the Porters were not readily available when he came to Mizzou? Tilmon kind of came along for the ride on that deal too. In spite of "recruiting" two NBA prospects (one of which was truly an elite player), he only got the benefit of one player for a single season out of the deal. Weird twist of fate that what could and should have been a rebirth of the program in a very big way turned out to be just a little better than where we would have otherwise been.

Even with a very good team Jontay's freshman year (even without MPJ), we had the bad luck of drawing a hot FSU in the tourney and losing Barnett for the game. Just about all momentum the Porters provided was lost at that point.
