MU has created a perception that the booster support required to win at a high level is not there.

MU has created the perception that the compliance office and the administration is not committed to winning at a high level and will actively undermine such attempts.

MU has some of the worst fan support and in game atmosphere (particularly from the student section perspective) among major basketball programs.

MU has established a long trend of selecting mediocre candiates and not really supporting them when they are here.

Basically, there is an established reputation at this point (supported by a many year track record of largely being irrelevant now) that MU doesn't really care about men's basketball.
