He was a pretty highly rated recruit.
As a freshman, in limited playing time, he showed a little bit of promise.
As a sophomore, he was wildly inconsistent, and very frustrating.
It was not necessarily even so much that he had good games and bad games but he had great drives and horrible drives. Possession by possesion there was no way of knowing what we were going to get.
As a junior, the injuries and the mental approach of how to deal with them really wrecked his and our season.
As a senior, when he was healthy, he was great. But as soon as he was injured again, and everything wasn’t just ideal, he began to struggle.
A lot of people seem to remember how good he was at the beginning of the season, but forget that a lot of games in the second half of the season Mauk was better.
And that was why hope was high going into the next season with Mauk, until it was evident he let the drug problem take over
