False. It is not singular in its purpose.

While Paul speaks of a singular purpose in Galatians with regard to salvation, other writers speak of other purposes in other books.
Joshua 1:7-8 "Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."
It informs the righteous concerning daily living. It is intended to inform our conduct in concert with our beliefs, and to teach us holy living.
The law is an exam. Exodus 16:4
"Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
Who walk in the law of the Lord! ...
How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word.
With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
Blessed are You, O Lord!
Teach me Your statutes. ...
Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes,
And I shall keep it to the end.
Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law;
Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart."
The law gives guidance, makes one wise, and protects the diligent observer, which brings blessings.
"Let Your tender mercies come to me, that I may live;
For Your law is my delight."
The law is not the enemy of faith, but a partner with the faith of the righteous. Abused, both the law and faith can have deadly consequences. Coupled together, they are God's safe playground.
Here is an example:
"Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit."
This is a New Testament reiteration of a moral law which we are under. It is meant to inform us that God's moral law still applies, and that it is God's will, His commandment, not, man's; and we are obligated to obey God.
