There is no need to panic. There are a lot of reasons to be concerned. Holding a football game or a concert or any mass event when the virus is still at risk of being transmitted is the height of irresponsibility as those that contract it will in turn transmit it to 2-3 or more others before they even know they have it. We do need to get back to work at some point, we don't necessarily need to have 70,000 people sharing the same space if we still have an issue with the virus.
The US is still experiencing exponential growth of the virus. We are doubling the number of cases every 2-3 days. In fact, most countries have managed to extricate themselves from the exponential curve but we have not. And it's not just in NYC, take a look at what is happening in Louisiana.
How this plays out beyond April remains to be seen but you should at least ready yourself for the possibility of watching NFL reruns this fall. I'm no epidemiologist but I understand the math and I've read up on historical outbreaks enough to know what I'm talking about. All may be solved by September but I do not think that is likely - at least not for large events.
