As long as testing is still lagging, you will get a skewed reporting of only those with more serious symptoms or who are in a most vulnerable group and are suffering. I think what will bring calm is when it is realized how many people have actually been exposed to or have the virus and are doing fine.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
