Have previously posted about the Coronavirus death rate and have realized that my calculations were flawed.
Used the total cases reported on the John Hopkins web site and the reported deaths. The total cases include those that have been resolved (death or cured) and the pending cases.
If one uses only the deaths and cured cases, the mortality rate is substantially higher than the 3.5 to 4.0 percent I previously posted.
I.e. this morning John Hopkins reports 175,250 total cases, 6,706 deaths and 77,658 cured. If one uses on the latter two figures, the mortality rate is 7.59% (i.e. 6,706 deaths out of 88,364 closed cases).
My bad on the previous posts.
