Certainly their are those who benefit from cheap interest - a federal government with out of control debt, maybe even billionaire real estate investors with huge amounts of debt...but for the good of the economy, ridiculously low rates are not good (for example, elderly people with $ saved should be able to be in liquid assets and receive a return that is greater exceeds inflation.)

The calls for negative rates would have been laughable - if he wasn't serious.
