Is the stock market and oil market drop serious? Yes. If people start saying you should sell off all stocks and liquidate your 401K I will say that is stupid and I will mock that reaction. I will point out how overblown that is and that there is no basis to do that. But that does not mean the market situation is not serious.

The positions are not mutually exclusive. I can't believe you are having this level of comprehension deficit.
