work when it is provided as it is now. The real question is why can they charge $900 for a mouthguard you can buy at a local drug store for a fraction of the cost. The reason is that for so long we just let insurance pay for it so the manufacturer would ask $900, the insurance carrier would lower to $400 and pay it. There is no market pressure to demand lower prices.
