ramifications of the contracts they are signing... especially when borrowing big bucks to do so.
Banks don't have the responsibility to make sure you are making a rational decision. The stupidity is the idea that the federal government should back any and all student loans. It takes the default risk out of the hands of the lender. They will get their money and profit regardless. All the more reason to be cautious when borrowing and spending that kind of money.
