With Trump as President, the US economy, military and influence is much stronger and that isn't necessarily good for Russia, if their goal is to out superpower us.
Whereas, with a swamp dweller like Obama and Clinton in the oval office, they could buy 20% of the U.S. Uranium in exchange for political favors, because Obama & Clinton types aren't independently wealthy. They need to sell political favors and U.S. sovereignty to supposedly hostile nations to make their wealth. The Russians would much rather prefer, politically, a swamp dweller (particularly a liberal democrat) because they just walk all over them.
But if the goal is simply peaceful respect between two nations... then they would prefer Trump. Clinton was on the 2016 debate stage saying she wanted to start World War III with Putin over Syria and Trump was saying he'd prefer trying to have friendly relations.
As for now, it doesn't matter what happens. The crazy batchit left has propped up Putin into immortal status by claiming that he... and he alone... from halfway around the globe... can somehow infiltrate our elections and choose the candidate of his choice.
And the left claims that nobody in the world, no entity, no agency and no amount of money, security or warning can stop Putin from stealing your vote.
Imagine being Putin. You did absolutely nothing and Democrats in the United States have hallucinated you to have magical all worldly powers.
