In the past, such person could not receive a security clearance in order to work in these posts. Same for socialists, communists, drug abusers, the mentally ill, gays and other sexual perverts (chelsea manning is calling). The Vindmans should never have been promoted, particularly after openly expressing disdain of America and it's military to Russian officers at joint exercises. Vindman's testimony was an embarrassment.
