I'm not limiting it to Obama - it's a tried and true political dirty trick. The State of Alabama used it against MLK. JFK used it against conservative groups. In 1988, the government and Catholic Church used it against abortion activists. Nixon had an Enemies List that was targeted. It's not new stuff.
