Ole Miss struggled before Orgeron, struggled under him and struggled after him. Perhaps Ole Miss was the greater issue.

Orgeron did quite well at USC, an established program, after replacing Lane Kiffin following the latter's dismissal.

Orgeron's replacement of Les Miles was more similar to the later than to the former.
