There are several reasons for point #1. A history of pride, a lack of alternatives geographically, a large local alumni base, etc. When it comes down to it though, it's attitude. As Mizzou fans we're use to being **** on. We accept it to a degree but worse is that we pass it down from generation to generation. I stopped following Gabe DeArmond when I heard him say we have to accept we'll never be a top tier program. There was a time when Harvard, Yale, and Rutgers were the bluebloods of college football...a 100 years ago. So things do change, but they only change with a purpose. Some of us have to stop taking a delusional pride in knowing we can only succeed so much. Do I want Mizzou fans to stay pragmatic? Yes. But we have to get rid of the "I'm wiser than others because I realize we can never succeed in the long run" mentality that is so d@mn pervasive.

It's true on point 2. and yet we've been competitive in most years. I point to Odom as a coach (and I wanted him to be successful but he has some fatal flaws as a HC) for 2016-1019. I wish him the best of luck in working those out. We're going to run short this year and going forward. Getting ticketholders and the south endzone used will work towards that. Our sports program is self sufficient. I understand we're one of the few that do that. Take care of 1 and it takes care of 2.

and none of this is directed at you. None of your posts register with me negatively. If we want change we all have to do it at a personal level.
