on what is necessary to win a national championship. This blueprint is not oringal thinking as three schools, Ohio State, Oklahoma and LSU each competed with a grad transfer quarterback. The difference is LSU copied the NFL New Orleans Saints passing concepts and instituted that into their passing offense. The transformation was stunning.
The point of this post on Tiger board is not to extroll the LSU passing offense, but to show everyone that it can be done.
If it happened to LSU, a school known for its tough running ability, it can happen to Missouri as well.
Does any one think Georgia bringing in a grad QB from Wake Forrest is a coincidence? Or that Ole Miss hired a head coach known for his innovative adaptations of the NFL west coast offense?
Mississippi State hired Mike Leach, a coach known for his innovative passing offenses.
Call it what you like, as many here will say it is the Big XII offenses all over again. Maybe so, but this time with SEC athletes. OKlahoma had 63 points put on them in their playoff game. OUch. That had to hurt.
Why not Missouri? Missouri has a new coach who brings fresh ideas on what is needed to compete at the highest level of the SEC. That to me is very exciting. Those of you you who say it can’t happen did any of you honestly think LSU could?
