He served on the board.

I worked for Group W Cable in the mid-eighties, they year prior they sponsored some program that if customer brought in cable box to switch it or something, rep made money - a LOT of money. One of my pals pulled in $6,000 for the weekend. I wasn't there, don't know how that happeed, but the company obviously made a bad call. This is nothing more than that. They rolled the dice and lost. End of story.
