What people want to see is Mizzou being competitive in every game no matter who we play. They want to see us handily beat the teams that we should like last night. They want us to make the tournament 2-3 times out of every 4 year period. That’s what people want.

What makes people tune Mizzou out is the bad losses and the losses where they look like they don’t want to be there. When you play lackadaisically and unfocused people subconsciously feel that if the team isn’t engaged, why should they be engaged and spending money with no return on that money in the form of wins/excitement.

What Martin is trying to do here is build that culture. That will lead to consistency. Consistency will lead to excitement. And excitement will lead to better recruits. We have looked a lot more engaged and consistent over the last several games. Can we keep it up now that competition ramps up? That’s what will determine the next few years to come...
