worship of God, they abandon their protective covering. This is the fault of Christians who compromise in their own lives, and invite devastating consequences into their own lives, and the lives of those around who suffer collateral damage.
Look at this and see how serious God is with those who call Him by name:
Fear God, Keep Your Vows
1 Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil.
2 Do not be rash with your mouth,
And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God.
For God is in heaven, and you on earth;
Therefore let your words be few.
3 For a dream comes through much activity,
And a fool’s voice is known by his many words.
4 When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it;
For He has no pleasure in fools.
Pay what you have vowed—
5 Better not to vow than to vow and not pay.
6 Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error. Why should God be angry at your excuse and destroy the work of your hands? 7 For in the multitude of dreams and many words there is also vanity. But (you) fear God." Ecclesiastes 5
If you vow a vow to God, especially in His house of worship, and you fail to fulfill your vow, i.e., I will stayed married to my wife/husband, until death we do part; God Himself says He will destroy the works of your hands, (and not just the finances), as a punitive consequence for your failure to fulfill your sacred word to Him. Is it really such a mystery that broken marriages result quite often in two financially devastated households?
This conduct, lack of marital unity, love, and respect, where a married couple does not live in peace, does violence to the marriage, and harm to the community; and, it calls into question why an unbeliever should even consider becoming a Christian, when the Christians around them are unwilling to respect the two most important people in their lives; God, and their spouse.
"Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband. But even if she does depart, Let Her Remain Unmarried OR Be Reconciled To Her Husband. And A Husband Is NOT To Divorce His Wife." 1 Corinthians 7
"You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord."
"Do not prostitute your daughter, to cause her to be a harlot, lest the land fall into harlotry, and the land become full of wickedness." Leviticus 19
Do you actually think the land can fall into this wickedness, such as is on open display in the U.S., and this country will not fall?
