Sorry guys but here is a post from the Mizzou Talk forum that I am posting without asking the author. I don't believe he's on here but I apologize if he didn't want this shared.
I'm posting it because what he says makes a lot of sense and would indicate that perhaps both sides were correct. The biggest issue I have with the reporting of "the list" is that not all the facts were known and, I don't care if someone scoops you, knowing the FACTS is the only thing a journalist should be concerned with.
Anyway, here's what he said:

It was a butthurt BO buddy who leaked the Non story. what you all don't understand is when you have bosses who give you a contract number that is way under market for TOP candidates you take them a list of putz's who you say you can get for that. then they say they arn't good enough, then you say in order to get what you want it will cost X and that's how you get enough to get Eli's coming.
I was a Headhunter and that's what we did every day to unrealistic hiring managers and this is NOT Sterk's first Rodeo. He knew how to play them and got what he needed. Problem is some idiot leaked it and that's what cost MU. Sterk will figure out who that leaker is and they will have the smackdown laid upon them!
