The IG did not offer to reinstate Comey's security clearance.

Why would Comey, Baker, ETAL, REQUEST reinstatement of stripped security clearances after they've been fired/stripped?

Declassify the information or don't strip security clearances prematurely.

If Comey had went through the background check/security clearance process, would his "new" security clearance have remained in place?

Was Comey paid for his time (including to apply for a security clearance & undergo background check)? Have you ever left a job and went back to a former employer and given them hundreds of hours?
