Mizzou Arena is WAY too big for us. In the Hearnes Center, there was fewer seats down low, AND a lot of locals who had tickets down low at a very cheap cost for YEARS. This created two things. First, it created a scarcity that helped its popularity. Seats down low at Mizzou Arena are no big deal. They used to be a big deal at the Hearnes Center. Second, it developed a following of a couple thousand people who would go to the games, every time, or get the seats filled. Though many of the locals were older and not so rowdy at basketball games, even NPC butts in seats created the illusion of a more raucous crowd. The raucous crowd became fun in itself.
Best way to get 10,000 people every night at Mizzou Arena? 1. Cut ticket prices and 2., limit the seating to 10,000 people.
