that the metrics used to measure college basketball are flawed. Our non-con in 2013-14 was vastly superior, but due to the way metrics assess conference strength the SEC wasn't viewed as being very tough that season.
MU in 2017-18:
19-12 overall, 10-8 in SEC tied 4th place
Noncon: Home wins over ISU (Big 12), Stephen F. Austin (Southland); Road wins over UCF (AAC) ; Neutral site wins over St. Johns (Big East)
Resulting bid: 8 seed
MU in 2013-14:
22-11 overall, 9-9 in SEC tied for 6th place
Noncon: Home wins over West Virginia (Big 12), UCLA (PAC12) , Western Michigan (MAC), Hawaii (Big West); Road wins over NC State (ACC) ; Neutral site wins over Northwestern (B1G), Nevada (Mountain West)
Resulting bid: NIT
