fighting back. Tens of millions of Americans latched onto Trump not because they are "on the right", but rather, they were/are tired of being demonized based on their demographic or physical identity.
Trump's base/core isn't "the right". It's plain folks who grew tired of being called evil based on not being in a minority interest group.
Who were those folks supposed to follow? HRC, who called them deplorables (and meant it)? That statement wasn't an accident and it wan't unique to HRC's thoughts- that's the DEM PLATFORM at this point: Support the gvmt taking from others to lift up identity groups through various schemes and policies.
Folks in rustbelt states finally said "uh, don't think so".
Then they are all called racists for not supporting the platform, because that's easier than admitting that people you hold in contempt may not vote for you.
