Prop 48s and they all finally were gone in the late 90s. Four division titles, three New Year’s Day bowl victories. For us that’s unprecedented success as opposed scores like 63-6 and the other blowouts from the previous 28 years

We also beat Nebraska four times during that period. That never would’ve happened unless Texas it stood up against the prop 48s.

I never forget my cousin is from Texas and he knew linebacker
Octavius McFarland, a prop 48 from Texas during the NU dominant 1990s. Went to high school with him. Said he couldn’t even read. Yet he was a key player for Nebraska during their two national championships in the mid 90s
