What the voters choose to do with this information is up to the voter.
It is the oath of those in Congress to hold to account presidents whose actions demonstrate a high level of malfeasance regardless oh how one might assume it works out - in this case an opposition party controlled-Senate less than likely to remove the presidnt from office. THAT part doesn't play a role. Hold the man to account. If the jury opts to cut him loose, THAT is on the jury.
Oh and there is NOTHING fake about this impeachment - in fact it is the most serious since at least Nixon if not more so - it could be argued it is the most serious impeachment proceeding in our history; unless your foundational argument is that the president is above the law.
