and careless, and is now reaping the consequences.

It happens.

This isn't a couple of pictures in confidence, this is a full-blown mess with a lot of complicit behavior.

Scale and circumstances matter when these things get decided/settled, no matter how the issue splicers here want to pretend otherwise. This was an out-of-control brat girl with a budget, some power and other peoples' money who was spreading it around and having a damned good time doing it, and when some, ah, "stakeholders" decided "their end of the deal" was going bad they employed the obvious countermeasures.

The "revenge porn" charge only really ends up working if the behavior is otherwise reasonably innocent, i.e. not involving staffers, campaign funds, and so on and so forth. Otherwise it's evidence exposing malfeasance and gets treated accordingly.

Too bad, kids who can't tell the difference, or worse, want to pretend they can't to try to make some stupid nebulous point (that doesn't apply in context) so they can feel better about their awful lives for 10 minutes.
